Injury prevention and rehabilitation...

The most successful sports people are those who limit the amount of time they spend injured. They take a regular sports massage which keeps their muscles in good condition and provides an early warning for overuse injuries and traumas.

When an injury does occur, rehabilitation time can often be reduced through deep tissue massage and a programme of mobility, flexibility, proprioception and strengthening exercises.

When to have a sports massage:
If the intensity of your training is very high then you will probably feel real benefit from a massage every one or two weeks, or following particularly hard training sessions. It is much better to have ongoing massage treatments than to wait until you get injured before seeking treatment.

Pre & post event massages are a useful complement to your competitions.
A pre event massage can help relax the body as part of the tapering down process and a post event massage helps to flush the tissue of waste produced through metabolism, decrease muscle tension or cramping and reduce recovery time.
